Ricke L. Smith, age 67, of Lakeland, TN passed away suddenly on 4/8/2015. He leaves behind his wife, Susan, children Ricke Jr., Katie, and Corey, brothers Micke and Perry, and grandson, Dustin. He also leaves two aunts, Lou Moore and Betty Moore, and a host of cousins and in-law relatives.
Rick retired after 44 years from PennaKem, formerly Quaker Oats Chemical in the beginning. It was a career that began with production and grew to allow him to use his expert people skills and human resources. He was the quiet calm in a storm, both in his personal and professional life. His family and friends will miss his quick wit as well as his gentle kindness. We are grateful that he passed away after doing what he so dearly loved, playing a round of golf at Stonebridge. There will be a gathering of family and friends on Friday, April 10 from 6 – 8 p.m. The memorial service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 11. Both the gathering and memorial service will be at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N Germantown Road, Bartlett, TN 38133.
