

Robert (Bob) Reynolds Allen, 96, went peacefully to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on July 27, 2025, in Memphis, Tennessee. He was the son of the late Joseph Claude Allen and the late Margaret Reynolds Allen. He was the last surviving sibling of Pauline Courtney, Ann Medve, Lillian Cooper, J.C. Allen, Odell Allen, and Alvin Allen.
Bob was born on February 14, 1929, in Albany, TX, “a Valentine baby in the hard times of ‘29” as he often quipped. His early years were spent in Albany, Abilene, and Lubbock, TX. After high school graduation, he joined the Navy, where he spent 4 years serving his country. Bob was trained and worked as a Medical Corpsman, where he graduated first in his medical training class. He was stationed at Millington Naval Base and made Memphis his home. He went to work for 1st National Bank, where he worked until he retired. Beyond retirement, Bob enjoyed several years traveling the United States as an over-the-road driver delivering security systems to prisons all around the country.
He leaves his wife, Geraldine H. Allen, his children Jacquelyn Allen Reinhardt (Fred W Reinhardt, III) of Taylors, SC and Dennis Wayne Allen (Leah Smith Allen) of Bartlett, TN, seven grandchildren Freddy W Reinhardt, IV (Michelle), Brian A Reinhardt (Amanda), Nicholas B Reinhardt (Caroline), Lauren A Germany (Lee), Lee R Allen (Jennifer), Craig T Allen, Blake J Allen (Ashlyn), and seventeen great-grandchildren, Gabe Reinhardt, Liam Reinhardt, Corrie Reinhardt, Owen Reinhardt, Hannah Beth Reinhardt, Simeon Reinhardt, Martha Reinhardt, Frances Reinhardt, Mac Reinhardt, Analise Germany, Luke Germany, Ryan Allen, Eric Allen, Laney Allen, Finley Allen, Archer Allen, and Addie Allen.
He was preceded in death by his son, Barry Reynolds Allen, his grandson, Craig Thomas Allen and his son-in-law, Fred W Reinhardt, III.
Bob was a very focused individual. He was attentive in every endeavor. He was also very trustworthy. He was the Treasurer for both Park Avenue Baptist Church in Memphis, Tennessee and Broadway Baptist Church in Whitehaven, Tennessee. He spent tireless hours working with, and was the Treasurer for Boy Scout Troop # 97, affectionately called Ole 97, sponsored by Broadway Baptist Church. He made many trips with Ole 97, including a trip to the Yucatan, a National Jamboree, and Grand Canyon along with several national parks. Bob was a member of Brighton Baptist Church in Brighton, TN.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday August 23, 2025, with a visitation at 1:00 PM and service at 2:00 PM at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, Tennessee 38133. A graveside service will be immediately following the funeral, also at Memphis Funeral Home and Gardens.
