Robert James Barnett, 59, of Cordova, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2013 at his home. He was a talented software engineer, a member of the Grand Krewe of Luxor-Carnival Memphis, attended Hope Presbyterian Church, enjoyed cooking, listening to music, dancing at the Bop Club and was an avid reader. Mr. Barnett, the loving husband of Patricia Barnett, also leaves a step-daughter, Ginny (Chris) Leverette; four sisters, LaNita Darden, Janet Humphreys, Kacky Kortenber and Tina Howell; and seven nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life service will be Saturday, August 3 at 3 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 5599 Poplar Ave. Family and friends will begin gathering at 1:30. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials be made to SRVS-3971 Knight Arnold Rd. Memphis, TN 38118. Online condolences may be made at www.memphisfuneralhome.net
