Robert William Burks

Robert William Burks, 86, of Cordova, passed away February 6, 2014 at his home. Mr. Burks was very proud that he only had two jobs in his life. He retired in 1987 from Baddours after 33 years of service. In 1988 he began working for Extra Space Storage and retired from there in 2011. Mr. Burks was a charter member of Faith Baptist Church, was great at gardening, and could fix anything around the house. He was also instrumental in starting the Baddour Memorial Center in Senatobia, MS. Mr. Burks leaves behind to cherish his memory: his wife, Myrtle Burks; sons, Mark Burks and Steve Burks (Sandra) and a daughter, Michelle Mitchell (Sam). He also is survived by his grandchildren: Jim Mitchell, Ethan Burks, Bailey Burks, Eli Burks, Jackson Mitchell, and Bella Mitchell. The family will receive friends Monday February 10, 2014 from 12:30-2pm and a Celebration of Life service will immediately follow at 2pm all at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd. Bartlett. Entombment will follow in Memorial Gardens.
