Robert “Bob” Curlee Marinik of Pocohontas, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025, at home surrounded by his family. A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 25, from 12:00-2:00 PM followed by a graveside service at 2:00 PM. All services will take place at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133.
Bob loved his family dearly and showed them what hard work and a no-quit attitude looked like. Born on January 4, 1950, in Temple, Texas, to Wanda Gay and Steve Marink. Bob grew up in Temple, where he attended Temple High School. He enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served his country from 1969 to 1974 as a Boiler Technician, BT3.
Bob married Martha Cannon in 1972, and together they raised four wonderful children. Although they later divorced, they remained committed to their family. In 2002, Bob married Signe Marinik, with whom he shared a loving partnership and extended family.
For many years, Bob owned and operated a successful heating and air conditioning company in Temple, Texas. His work ethic and dedication left a lasting impact on the community he served. After selling the business, Bob moved to Germantown, Tennessee, where he taught HVAC at Moore Tech. Later, he retired to Pocahontas, Arkansas, where he enjoyed the beautiful outdoors with his wife.
A lifelong soccer enthusiast, Bob not only played the game but also shared his passion by coaching his children for many years. He played for the Temple HotSpurs and cherished his weekly nights at Dr. Korompai's house, where lasting friendships and memories were made. Off the field, he found solace in golf, playing pool, watching John Wayne movies, and enjoying the great outdoors—especially fishing and hunting with his father.
Bob was a member of the Masonic Knob Creek Lodge (Temple, TX), the American Legion Post 6 (Pocohantas, AR), and served as the commander, and a member of the Loyal Order of Moose.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Steve Marinik, Wanda Gay Boniface, and Edwin Charleton Boniface; and brother, Michael Marinik.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Signe; his children: Misty Wyatt (Adam) of Fisherville, KY, Brandy German of Shore Acres, TX, Candy Klingensmith (Jeff) of Sioux Falls, SD, and Robert Marinik (Misty) of Kemp, TX; and his stepchildren: Bradley Hudspeth (Gylet) of Olive Branch, MS, Deborah Pleasants (Tim) of Germantown, TN, Scott Hudspeth of Columbus MS, and Kevin Hudspeth (Alex) of Memphis, TN; 12 grandchildren Dylan, Beau, Brooke, Ashlyn, Kimberly, Brianna, Harrison, Ava, Ainsley, Collin, Henry, JonRex; and siblings Billie Lagrone (Bill) and Jamie Conner.
Bob will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
