
ROBERT E. PRINCE, 88, of Memphis, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born December 23, 1925 in Lewiston, Maine. He served in the U. S. Army Infantry and Engineer Corp during WWII and worked 41 years for DuPont as a chemical engineer. He was an active member of Messiah Lutheran Church and served on numerous boards, both at Messiah and the Mid-South District LCMS. Bob was a 15+ gallon LifeBlood Donor. His hobbies included photography, WWII memorabilia and genealogy. He was most proud of his membership in the Society of Mayflower Descendants. Surviving spouse of 15 years is Virginia Wessenauer Prince. Bob was preceded in death by Ruth Fehlau Prince, his wife of 45 years, granddaughter, Mallory Paige Coburn, and his parents, James H. and Emma E. Prince. Surviving children are daughters, Katherine (Jerry), Julia (Rey) and Dawn (Keith); sons, James and David; grandchildren, Zachary (Jennifer), Alex, Theodore, Nathaniel, Cassidy, Jordan and Cameron; great-grandchildren, Maxwell, Calvin and Penelope. Services will be Friday, August 15, at 10 a.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 p.m., at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Road.
