Roy A. Barnes went to his reward on March 5, 2016 at the age of 95. Roy was born in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee on February 27, 1921, one of ten children of Adrian and Ellen Barnes. After serving in the Army Reserve and the Navy during WWII Roy went to work for Burlington-Northern Railroad where he retired after 40 years of service. Roy was preceded in death by his first wife Jean and is survived by his second wife Bea. He is also survived by two sons, Roy Jr. (Leslie), and Kent (Judy), both of Houston, Texas, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Roy was a resident of the Kirby Pines Community at his death. He loved to play golf and belonged to Irene Country Club. He was a member of the Covenant Baptist Church in Collierville, TN. He was also a Mason for over 50 years. Funeral services and burial are to be held Wednesday March 9 at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Road.
