Sarah E. Long

Sarah E. Long, 86, died Tuesday, December 20, 2011 in her Millington home. Mrs. Long was a homemaker and member of the Brunswick FCE for many years. She was a lifelong member of New Salem Cumberland Presbyterian Church and served as their treasurer for over 40 years. Mrs. Long was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Long. She is survived by her son, Benny C. Long of Arlington; and her daughter, Cathy Rutledge (Roger) of Millington; her sister, Claire McCain of Atoka; her brother, Robert Byron Stewart Jr. (Vernetta) of Rosemark; and four grandchildren, David Carl Long (Kristin); Sarah Allison Long; Malissia Elizabeth Rutledge; and Michelle Elyse Rutledge. The family will receive friends at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens 3700 N. Germantown Parkway Bartlett on Thursday, December 22, 2011 from 5:30 – 8:30. Funeral Services will be at New Salem Cumberland Presbyterian Church at 6813 Salem Road Lakeland, TN at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 23, 2011. Interment will be at the New Salem Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family requests that memorials be sent to either the New Salem Cumberland Presbyterian Church or to the American Cancer Society or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
