She was born to the late Wiley and Leynettie Miller on November 2nd, 1951 in New Albany, Mississippi. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 43 years, Kenneth Wayne Wheeler; her sister Diane “Nan” Miller and her brother, Wiley “Lightening” Miller.
Jane was raised on a farm with her 9 other siblings. She worked hard in life. Jane married her husband Kenneth Wayne on September 18th, 1970. Kenneth Wayne was in the military for many years and served in the United States Army. Shortly after their wedding, he was stationed at An Khe, Vietname and made the first year of marriage rather difficult being separated.
She started working with the Bank of Bartlett in June 1980. She went from a teller to a customer service representative, and then was made the bank manager. She left on March 19th, 1993. She went to banking school and got a degree. She was also active in the Germantown Chamber.
Her salvation experience was long ago. In 2009 Jane started attending Crossroads Baptist Church and became a faithful member attending weekly on Sunday morning and night. Each Wednesday, she was member of the kitchen team cooking dinner for the fellowship as a mission in her heart. She loved that until December 2013, to Trafalgar and served our Lord until going home. She taught Sunday school for a year. She was unsure if that was her calling but was not afraid to try.
She also enjoyed the women’s fellowship at Ellendale Baptist Church where her sister in love was a member, Bible studies, and D-Groups, of often she would say she was a special person because she had two sweet church families. One she’s a member of, one she is a guest of, and loved by both.
Jane loved reading, Bible studies, playing on her i-pad, sister trips to the beach, sunrises, sunsets, and crossword puzzles. She enjoyed most in life was her family. She adored being “Grannie”. She was a number one mom and never gave up on her children. She was the best Grannie in the world.
Jane is survived by her children, Deanna Wheeler Minner, Kenneth Wayne Wheeler; grandchildren, Seth Morton, Dakotah Wheeler, Sarah Grace Minner; two great-grandchildren, Maverick and Weston Wheeler; her siblings, Barbara Jordan (Terry), Michael Miller, Larry “Smokey” Miller (Vicky), Vickie Teel (Doug), Danny Miller (Fran), Anita William (Billy), Ginger Miller; and her sisters in love, Brenda Brignole and Carla Stotts (Randy).
Family will receive friends from 9:00am to 10:00am on Saturday, June 11th at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd, Bartlett, TN. Services will follow at 10:00am.
