Sharon Craig Helms

Born on August 29, 1954, in Morley, Missouri, Sharon was the daughter of Hugh William Craig Sr. and Mary Georgia Craig. She graduated from the Baptist School of Nursing in 1975 and worked at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, for many years. Although severe health issues forced Sharon to step away from her calling as a nurse, she never lost her passion for caring for others.

Sharon was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Helms on February 24, 1996. A few years later, Bob and Sharon adopted their beautiful baby, Jessica, on August 31, 2000.

Sharon loved her family dearly and found great joy in her roles as a mother and a wife. She and Bob enjoyed thirty years of cooking together, watching their favorite movies, riding on the boat, and watching sunsets. They also loved to travel together, especially to the beach and to visit family and friends.

Sharon loved people and enjoyed her time with all her friends. She also loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and her church family at Bellevue Baptist Church, where she served many years in a multitude of roles and touched many lives.

In addition to her husband, Bob Helms, Sharon is survived by her daughter, Jess Seaton and her husband, Alex, of Adamsville, Tennessee.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Mary Craig, and her siblings, John Dale Craig, Hugh William Craig, Jr., Walter Lee Craig, and Betty Craig Kirby.

Sharon will be remembered for her genuine kindness towards everyone she encountered. Though she will be dearly missed, her family finds comfort in knowing that she is spending her eternity with Jesus.

Visitation will be held at Bellevue Baptist Church, 2000 Appling Rd, Memphis, TN 38016, US, on July 23, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a Funeral Service at the same location from 11:00 am to 11:45 am.

A Committal Service will take place at Memory Hill Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133, US, on July 23, 2026, from 12:30 pm to 1:00 pm.
