

Shirley W. Bryant, 92, of Cordova, Tennessee, passed away on February 22, 2017. Shirley was a long-time member of Eudora Baptist Church where she taught the thirteen year old girls Sunday School class. She later attended Cordova Baptist Church.
She was a graduate of Augusta Tilghman High School of Paducah, Kentucky in 1942. She left home at the age of twenty to work for the IRS in Washington, D.C. It was in D.C. that she met the love of her life, Robert E. Bryant, who was serving in the Navy. They married in Miami, Florida on February 4, 1945 and enjoyed seventy-three years of marriage. Before starting a family, she worked at Kennedy View Hospital in Memphis and later volunteered at St. Jude.
The family was blessed to have Shirley for ninety-two years. She enriched the lives of her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. As the centerpiece of the family, she will be sorely missed, especially by the love of her life, her husband. She was a strong spirited person who lived a long and fruitful life serving the Lord and her family.
She leaves her loving husband of 73 years, Robert E. Bryant; two sons, Ron Bryant and Michael Bryant (Janice); grandchildren, Amanda Hall (Brandon) and Ashley Roseberry (Cubbins); and a great granddaughter, Sloan Roseberry.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 25 at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Road, Bartlett, Tennessee with visitation beginning at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in Memorial Gardens.
