Shirley Skillen McLoughlin

Shirley was married to William McLoughlin in 1955 until his death in 2022. She and her beloved husband immigrated to Canada shortly after their marriage and then to the United States in 1967.

Shirley leaves five children; Janice McLoughlin Olswing (Barry), Kathleen McLoughlin Kenwright (Dell), Michael McLoughlin (Mary), Stephen McLoughlin (Essie), Peter McLoughlin (Melanie). She leaves fifteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.

Shirley was a dedicated wife and mother. She was a devoted Catholic and encouraged her children in the faith and prayer. She kept family traditions alive while overcoming the impacts of WWII in England and a tragic accident in Canada. She had various cosmetic enterprises and owned the Milan Hostess company introducing newcomers to local businesses. She loved music and singing, founder and active member of the Milan area British women’s club, was an avid reader and participated in the state Senior Olympics.
