Steven Leroy Griffin

Steve Leroy Griffin, age 73, passed away on May 2, 2026. He was born on April 19, 1953, in Germany, and later made his home in Memphis, Tennessee, where he built a life marked by hard work, loyalty, and a deep love for his family.

Steve was preceded in death by his father Clarence Griffin and his mother Marilyn Brooks.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Lee Ann Griffin; his children Christy Getman (Greg) of Arlington, TN, and Michael Griffin (Jess) of Atoka, TN; and his beloved grandchildren Ethan, Conor, and Baley Getman, and Davis and Jaxon Griffin. He also leaves behind his siblings Jeanne Allgood (Jerry) of Grass Valley, CA; Neal Lokey (Sharon) of Bartlett, TN; Kathy Crain (Steve) of Lakeland, TN; and Richard Brooks (Cindy) of Byhalia, MS.

Steve was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had a well‑known sweet tooth and ended nearly every evening with a glass of milk and a handful of Oreos. He loved to grill, enjoyed a cold beer, and could often be found in his garage his favorite place to tinker, weld, and create. Within his family, he was especially known for his famous “Griff Sauce,” a recipe treasured and remembered with a smile.

Those who knew Steve would often say he could do just about anything he set his mind to. He truly embodied the spirit of the old saying not just a jack of all trades, but a man whose many skills, talents, and resourcefulness made him better than most at whatever he touched. Whether he was fixing something, building something, or lending a hand, Steve approached it with the same steady confidence and quiet pride.

His presence, his humor, and the comfort of his steady hands will be deeply missed by all who loved him.

A Public Visitation will be held at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133, US, on May 8, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, followed by a Funeral Service at the same location from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

A Committal Service will take place at Memory Hill Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133, US, on May 8, 2026, from 3:30 pm to 4:00 pm.
