Sue Dell Brewer Francis

Sue Dell Brewer Francis, 85, of Bartlett passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at Methodist Hospice House-Memphis. She was born in Ridgely, TN on November 29, 1928 to the late Jack Henry and Idell Harrington Brewer. Sue attended Ward Belmont College in Nashville, TN for two years and graduated from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX where she received her bachelor’s degree. She was a former teacher at Bartlett High School, volunteered for the American Red Cross, volunteered for the VA Medical Center-Memphis in her later years, provided comfort and smiles to the faces of suffering veterans. How fitting that God would bring a smile to her face and everlasting comfort to her suffering on Veterans Day 2014. Sue is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, James Manley Francis; daughter, Susan Francis of Memphis and Suzanne Mari of Ft. Worth, TX; sons, Paul Brewer Francis and wife Donna of Monticello, AR and David Lloyd Francis and wife Sandy of Kinshasha, Democratic Republic of the Congo.; grandchildren, Timothy James of Ruston, LA, John David (J.D.) and Suzanne Mari both of Fort Worth, TX The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, November 14, 2014 and a funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 15, 2014 both at Memphis Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd., Bartlett, TN. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be sent to the American Red Cross.
