Swann E. Parks

Swann Edward Parks went Home to the Lord on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, June Parks; son Greg Parks and his wife Donna and daughter Gina Torrey and her husband Bill. He had 4 granddaughters: Kelly and her husband Jeremy Connell, Krista Torrey, Sarah Parks and Rachel Parks. He has one great-granddaughter, Ella Connell. Mr Parks was 80 years old and born in Calloway County, Kentucky to Marvin and Elizabeth Parks. He is survived by a loving sister Cherrie Paschall and her husband Steve. He graduated in 1955 from New Mexico State University with a basketball scholarship. He served as an officer in the Air Force located at Rantoul, Illinois where both of his children were born. He worked for The DuPont Company for 38 years primarily in Clinton, Iowa and Memphis, TN plants. His hobbies included wood working and genealogy. He was a member and served countless hours at St Paul Methodist Church in Lakeland, Tennessee. Visitation for Swann will be on Thursday, April 25 from 1 to 3 p.m. at St Paul Methodist church followed by a service at 3 p.m. Entombment will be in Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
