Teresa Rose Tansey

Teresa was born December 18th, 1949 in Elaine, AR to Grover and Opal Carter. The family moved to Barton, AR where she graduated from Barton High School in 1969.

She moved to Memphis in 1970 and worked at Fred Montesi's supermarket from 1970 until they closed in 1983. There she met the love of her life, her husband, Tim Tansey. After staying at home with her boys, Tim Jr. and Tyler, Teresa went to work at St. Ann Catholic Church in Bartlett. She loved her job at St. Ann and was fondly nicknamed "The Boss" by Father Bruce. Teresa worked at St. Ann for 18 years.

During the last several years of her life, Teresa suffered from Alzheimer's Disease. A special thank you to the staff of Page Robbins Adult Day Center.

She is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Tim Tansey; three sons Rodney Newsom, Tim Tansey Jr., and Tyler Tansey; one grandson Heath Newsom. She loved her family with all of her heart.

She is also survived by her brothers, Wayne Carter and Dwight Carter; and her sister Laverne Kerr. She is preceded in death by her parents, Grover and Opal Carter.

Visitation will take place at Memphis Funeral Home (Germantown Rd) on Thursday, June 22nd, 2017 from 5:00-7:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:00 pm.

The funeral mass will be Friday, June 23rd, 2017 at St. Ann Catholic Church (Bartlett) at 11:00 am with the burial at Calvary Cemetery
