Theresa Renee Johnson

Theresa Renee Johnson, age 64, passed unexpectedly on July 1, 2026. Theresa grew up in Austell, GA and attended trade school at Griffin Tech to become an electrician’s apprentice. Work brought her and her children to Memphis, TN. Theresa began battling Chron’s disease in early adulthood and has struggled with her health for many years. However, she still found joy in her family and community of friends. Theresa loved God, the beach, fishing, frogs, bird watching, reading (her and her grandson had their own book club) and working with her hands doing cross-stitch, puzzles or other crafts. She was a good mom, but Nana is the title she wore best. She is a beloved and devoted Nana to her grandchildren, who will miss her dearly. She was often at ball games, concerts, and shows cheering them on. She loved playing board games and watching movies with them. She had a love of music that she shared with her family, and there is comfort in knowing she is now enjoying the eternal music in heaven.

Theresa is preceded in death by son, Jeffrey Floyd; her brother, Russel Rice; and her stepdad, Wiley Lovins. She is survived by her daughter Casandra Peterson (Chuck); her son Dusty Floyd (Danielle); her grandsons; Daniel (Hailey), Chris, Nick and Caleb; her granddaughters; Brittany (Miranda), Cassy, Zoey and Catie; her mother, Carol Lovins; and sisters; Aundrea Morris and Beverly Paulk.

Visitation will be held at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133, US, on July 8, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life at the same location on July 8, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
