Tiny Sue Harrell Griffin, passed away peacefully, at Baptist Memorial Hospital East, Wednesday night, September, 4th at 9:15 PM. She was born in Ripley, MS, on April 4th, 1932, to her late parents, Benjamin Lee Harrell and Martha Etta Cox Harrell from Memphis. Sue moved to Memphis with her family at the age of four. She was raised in Memphis and graduated from Bartlett High School in 1951. Tiny Sue Harrell married James Talmage Griffin in 1952, and they have been together for 67 years. They raised five children that has expanded into a large loving family; Deborah Sue Griffin Waters, Patsy Gail Griffin Clarke (Camby), James Wayne Griffin, (Cheryl) , Emily Carol Griffin Hilligoss (John), Kenneth Lee Griffin and twelve grandchildren; Ashley Clarke Squire, Shelby Clarke McCleery, David Waters, Amanda Griffin Blevins, Amber Clarke Mills, Angela Griffin Schroeder, Jessica Hilligoss Smith, Justin Griffin, Daron Griffin, Brandon Griffin, Nathan Hilligoss, Anna Griffin, nineteen great-grandchildren; Logan McCleery, Lacy McCleery, Lexie McCleery, Lillie McCleery, Alaina Squire, Aidan Squire, Emory Mills, Annisten Mills, Piper Mills, Vanna Mills, Scarlett Blevins, Jameson Blevins, Kathleen Blevins, Everett Schroeder, Lewis Schroeder, Chloe Waters, Landry Waters, Aubrey Waters, Merritt Griffin. Sue also leaves her brother, Benjamin Arnold Harrell of Booker, TX, her sisters; Rose Marie Harrell Teter of Little Rock, AR and Lucy Carol Harrell McKinney of Homer, AK.

She was preceded in death by her grandson, Derek Wayne Griffin, her brother Robert Lee Harrell, her sister, Martha Mae Harrell Harmon, and her son-in-law, Palmer Waters.

Sue was a loving wife, nurturing mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a sincere loyal friend to so many. She taught us all by example through living a humble, selfless, loving and caring life, truly the life of a servant. We are all thankful to know her faith in the living God and her trust in His promises for those who love and serve Him. Sue was a wonderful homemaker to her family of seven, cooking, baking, sewing, cleaning, and taking care of all our mishaps. The doctor and nurse on call. She worked for Kimberly Clark Corporation for 20 years finishing in the diaper plant and retired in 1987.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until service time at 2:00 PM, on Sunday, September 8, 2019, at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Pky Bartlett, TN 38133.

I have so many wonderful memories of our precious Sue but one is how she would get out with us as children and play with us and then would fix us a wonderful meal even though I know she was wore out. She was such a special lady and I thank God he put her in my life I loved her very much and always will. Love you precious Sue❤️
