Tony was a devoted father who enjoyed discussing video games with his son and loved spending his weekends at the softball field watching his daughter play. Tony was also a softball coach who made a huge impact on his players, both on the field and off.
Tony was a second-generation firefighter who loved his career. Tony graduated recruit class #85 and went to Truck 7A out of the academy. Tony received the Life Saving Medal in 2011. He was proud when became a Driver and returned to Truck 7C. After many years on Truck 7, Tony transferred and finished his career driving Engine 16. Tony was a member of the Memphis Fire Fighters Association.
Tony is survived by his mother, Judy Caldwell, his fiancée, Christin Fagan, his children, Dain and Rory Caldwell, Christin’s children, Trey (Arianna), Scotland and John Taylor Traweek, his sisters, Dawn Perkins and Cindy Rhea (Jeff), his niece, Tiffany Hoy (Chad), nephew, Cody, and great-nephew, Whit. He also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, Joe Caldwell.
A memorial service will be held at Whitten Memorial Baptist Church on Saturday, September 11, 2021.
Visitation will be from 1:00-3:00pm with the Memorial Service from 3:00-4:00pm. Brother Jeff Shipley will officiate, and Pastor Myron Cash will share a message. Flowers and condolences may be offered at 6773 Macon Road, Memphis, TN 38134 Saturday after 10:00am.
