

TROY HARDEN of Grand Valley Lakes died Thursday, August 1, 2013 at Baptist Memorial Hospital after a short illness. He was born in Red Bay, AL. He was a decorated WWII veteran serving in the Army 101st Airborne Division. He was part owner of Bell & Harden Heating and Air for over 30 years before retiring. He was an active volunteer in the community of Bolivar, TN. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Minnie Harden; 3 brothers, Dayton, Clyde and Jim Harden, 2 sisters, Oneice Tanneberger and Nora Clingan, and a step-daughter, Donna Rickman. He is survived by his wife, Janice, 2 daughters, Gwynne Hickman of Marietta, MS, Madra Jordan (Brad) of Millington, TN, one son, Jerry Harden of Memphis, TN; one stepson, Eric Rickman (Velori) of Millington, TN, one sister, Jean Dickerson of Beach Park, IL; two grandsons, Bart Hickman (Dorothy) of Marietta, MS and Alek Rickman of Millington, TN, a host of nephews, nieces and cousins with a “Socks” the cat, his favorite lap buddy. Visitation will be Monday, August 5, from 5-7 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home, 3700 N. Germantown Pkwy., Bartlett, TN. Funeral services and burial will be Tuesday, August 6 at 2 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home, 3700 N. Germantown Parkwy, Bartlett, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer’s Association or Wounded Warriors.
