To some, she was Ginny, to others she was Lou, and to others - Ginny Lou.
Virginia Louise Porter Galbreath was born May 26, 1948. She was the daughter of Roy Porter & Katherine Hinson.
A graduate of Whitehaven High School, she worked early on in life as a hairdresser followed by some years employed at Steinmart. Then, there were her years at William Sonoma, where she was a mentor to others who worked around her.
Ginny was preceded in death by her father and mother, and sisters, Carol & Mickey.
She is survived by sisters, Sue and Kathy; daughter, Leanne, and son, Andrew Galbreath, and one grandchild.
Outside of work, Ginny found great delight in reading, quilting, taking cruises with her girlfriends, and even a bit of skydiving.
Her span of time in this life was 78 years – having passed away on August 22.
She will be missed, and she will be lovingly remembered. We in her family are thankful for many wonderful memories that we will cherish forever.
Visitation will be held at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 North Germantown Parkway, Bartlett, TN 38133, US, on September 16, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life at the same location on September 16, 2026, at 2:00 PM.
