

Virginia Crowe Williams, 92, of Memphis was born on July 23, 1921 and received her angel wings, Sunday, February 23, 2014. She was blessed with a long and active life. A graduate of Bartlett she went on to serve her country in the Army Air Corp during World War II. She then began a long career in the Book Binding business and worked full time well into her 80’s. She was a longtime member of Raleigh Christian Church (now New Hope Christian). She was a servant of God and raised her family to always put God first. Family always came first and Sunday Dinner at Grandma’s was mandatory. Her favorite pastime was cheering on her grandchildren and great grandchildren in all of their sport activities. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years Edward T. Williams, her parents William and Bessie Crowe, two sisters, Cleta King and Mae Harris, and one brother William Crowe. She is survived by her two daughters, Ola Ray (Dennis) Payne and Rita (Kerry) Forsythe, five grandchildren, Rachel Richards, Hilary DeLuco, Andy Payne, Joshua Jacobs, Dusty Payne, 12 ½ great grandchildren, one sister, Robbie Stewart and a host of nieces and nephews. Heaven has gained one fiesty angel. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm, Tuesday, February 25, 2014 and the celebration of her life will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, February 26, 2014 both at Memphis Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Road, Bartlett, TN. Her wishes were that any memorials be sent to the Legacy Fund at New Hope Christian Church or Baptist Memorial Healthcare Foundation.
