Born to the late Warren and Dona Dunaway Mulford in Marion Co., MS, W.D. is remembered for being a hardworking man who could do anything around the house. He was a writer by nature and loved to keep a journal, and his daughter loved to read his writings.
Warren worked at Crown Zellerbach for 43 years until his retirement. Being a person who enjoyed working all his life, after retiring from Crown Zellerbach, he continued to work for many more years at Wangs International and several other various jobs. In addition, for many years it was his pleasure to keep the grounds mowed and trimmed at his church home, Compassion Church Germantown.
He was inducted into the U.S. Army Ft. Jackson and then later worked as a medic in Ft. Sam Houston in Texas.
He is survived by the love of his life of 73 years, Geraldine Beal Mulford. They met at 12 years old in a church in Marion County, MS, where W.D. sat next to his future wife.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his grandson, Matthew Embry (Charlie), granddaughter Hannah Palmer (Zachary); great-grandsons Liam Embry and Lincoln Embry; great-granddaughter Embry Rose Palmer, brother-in-law, Tommy Beal, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Larry Mulford and daughter Tammi Mulford Embry.
Visitation for Mr. Mulford will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens (3700 N. Germantown Rd., Bartlett, TN 38133). The funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2023, beginning at 2:00 PM with the graveside to follow.
