William “Bill” Ivon Coburn, passed away at Methodist Hospice residence in Memphis TN, at the age of 84. He was preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. A. Ivon Coburn and a brother James A. Coburn. Bill was born on December 28, 1938, in Memphis. He was a graduate of Christian Brothers High School in Memphis. He received a Doctorate of Education from the University of Sarasota in 1989, Masters of Business Administration from Memphis State University in 1969 and a Bachelors of Science from Christian Brothers College in 1965. Bill served in the United States Air Force from 1957 to 1961. He retired from State Technical Institute on Memphis in 2003, where he worked in Data Processing technology Department and Microcomputer Department. Bill is survived by his wife of 56 years, Judy Barrett Coburn, three nephews Ivan Coburn (Leesa), Bryan Barrett (Leigh), Michael Barrett (Jon), two nieces Jamie Coburn Mitchell (Ken) and Shala Barrett Garner (P.J.), sister in law June Terry (Melvin) of close relation. A memorial mass will be held at St. Ann Catholic Church located at 6529 Stage Road in Bartlett TN, Friday August 25 at 11:00 with a visitation starting at 10:00. Followed by a reception at the church. Burial will be in West TN Veterans Cemetery, those time are pending.
