William Andrew Dykes, 53, of Millington, passed away at his home, on Wednesday, July 17, 2013. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was a firefighter/paramedic with the Bartlett Fire Department. Mr. Dykes, the husband of Collie Holloway-Dykes, also leaves three daughters, Felisha Logan of Memphis, Kimberly Jones of Oakland and Andrea “Dee Dee” Brown of Olive Branch; a son, Logan Dykes of Henderson, TN; a sister, Amelia Smith of Fulton, MS; two brothers, Tommy Dykes of Memphis and Jesse Dykes of MS; his father, William Henry Dykes of Fulton, MS; and five grandchildren, Bruce, Alexis, Kristen, Colby, Jr. and Christopher. He was preceded in death by his mother, Thelma Dykes and an uncle, Tommy O. Davis. A celebration of life service for Mr. Dykes will be at 2 p.m., Friday, July 26 at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd. The gathering of friends and family will begin at 1 p.m. Mr. Dykes graciously donated his body to the Medical Education Research Institute (M.E.R.I.).
