Bob was born on April 19, 1931 in Jeffersonville, Indiana to William Roy Foster and Anna Belle Scott. He grew up in Jeffersonville, graduated from Jeffersonville High School in 1950, then served in the Civil Air Patrol, U.S. Air Force, and Air National Guard. In 1953, Bob met and married the love of his life, Brownie Jean Jordan. Together they raised a family of 4 children and shared over 66 years of marriage.
Bob loved flying and the family lived in various cities as he pursued his career as a corporate pilot for various private companies and charter lines. During his career he had the privilege and opportunity to fly notable individuals such as former President Dwight Eisenhower, Marlo Thomas, Fuzzy Zeller and Chi Chi Rodriguez. Much of his adult life was lived in Cleveland Ohio before retiring and relocating to Tennessee to be closer to his children and their families. He also enjoyed hobbies of photography and golf, but his main love was family.
Bob was preceded in death by his loving wife, Brownie, and a brother, Donald Foster. He is survived by his brother, Marvin Foster of Jeffersonville, IN; four children, Deborah (David) Hays of Bartlett, TN, Arminda (Tom) Campbell of Longview, TX, Robert Daniel (Pam) Foster of Midland, TX, and John Foster of Bartlett, TN; eight grandchildren, Lindsey (Matt) Durand, Allison (Parke) Cottrell, Audra (Jake) Ford, Courtney Hays, Jordan (Andrew) Smith, Stuart Campbell, Ryan Foster, and Anna Foster; one great grandchild, Indiana Ford as well as many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Foster was a member of Bartlett Baptist Church and modeled the love of Jesus to his family and friends.
Visitation with the family will be held, Sunday March 15 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home ns Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd, Bartlett TN. Funeral services will be held at the same location on Monday morning March 16, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow.
