William Paul Phillips, 45, went to be with the Lord on July 11, 2018 in Bartlett, TN. Paul is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Christy, his 2 sons who he was so proud of and loved more than life itself, William “Will” Paul Phillips, Jr. and Nathaniel “Nate” Ross Phillips; his beloved dog Little Charlie; Bill Phillips (Barbara) all of Bartlett, TN. He is preceded in death by his mother Susan Gail Phillips and his granny whom he adored Margaret Phillips.
Paul was born on December 18, 1972 in Memphis, TN to parents Bill and Susan Phillips. He graduated from Bolton High School in 1991. In January 1992, as a 3rd generation police officer, he began his 25 year career with the Bartlett Police Department starting out as a dispatcher. He advanced his career by becoming a police officer, a detective, a lieutenant and finishing his watch as captain. Paul loved his job and his fellow colleagues.
Paul loved history and was a huge movie buff. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Many memories have been made from camping at Spring River, boating at Pickwick Lake and spending time at the beach. Paul was also an avid Razorback fan.
His family and friends will always remember him as being honest, compassionate, generous, loyal and the biggest jokester around.
Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday July 17, 2018 at New Hope Christian Church in Bartlett, TN. Visitation will be from 10:00-1:00 with service to follow. Burial will be at the Memphis Funeral Home on Germantown Parkway.
