For nearly 50 consecutive years, My son and I had the pleasure and privilege of assembling each year at the Maryland hunt camp with the Whites....Bill, Billy, Sidney and, as he came of age, Whalon. And Gloria was always a huge part as we often assembled before the hunt at her home for her fantastic Thanksgiving dinners. So many wonderful memories of that family and that camaraderie will stay with me all the days of my life. I loved them all.
I only met Karene on a couple of occasions but I wish I had known her better. As evidenced by the many photos in the outstanding video presented on this site, she and her family shared much happiness with Billy and it shows on all of their faces. I am so deeply sorry for your loss.

Will forever relish the memories of family gatherings, especially around the Holidays, with Uncle Billy, Titi Gloria, Sydney and you Billy, in Temple Hills. Your mom, who is vey dear to us all, opened her home to us all nephews and nieces, and our children, with opened arms. Such lovely times which made your mom very happy. We will miss your presence...,and your deviled eggs🤗. Rest In Peace, The Fabregas-Nieves family

Dear Billy
I knew deep in my heart that I would not see you again when I saw you last year at your mother’s viewing in Maryland-my dear Titi Gloria. I knew you were very sick and that only your strong spirit and the care of Karen, was keeping you going on.
You are the last member of the White-Troche family around us and with that fact, my best memories I have as an adolescent and adult that like to visit your family house in Maryland.
For the last 40 years I visited that house that I consider it my home in the U.S. I felt free to spend time there to relax or to listen to the family adventures with hunting and cooking. I also felt a huge sense of hospitality in its widest sense. All the possible acts to feel welcome were there, from the four of you- Uncle Bill, Auntie Gloria, Syd and you. I guess that’s what happens when you integrate the best of two worlds-the American-Southern and Porto Rican-westerners. At your house I came acquainted with a rainbow of recipes from Mississippi and other parts of the world, which also included drinks from your fathers bar! The BBQ was another treat and your favorite.
Temple Hills at Maryland was my personal Disney World specially when Auntie Gloria talked about your hunting ventures. More so, when I saw the result of that unusual activity for me as part of dinner!! But the food of Puerto Rico could dominate the scene when Auntie Gloria got serious with her cooking even when she spent most of her life in Maryland.
Even when you were not in good health, you always tried to make it to your house in Maryland, specially if you knew that I was visiting your mother. I would never forget the time that you were so much in pain with shingles, and you came with Karen to take us both for dinner. That was the way to say-I love you. Having dinner with the people you care for was one of your legacys that I hope CHEF Waylon White, your beloved son-will preserve. What I feel is gratitude along with an overwhelming sadness. Love always,
