I met Jimmy in 2021, when I first came to Memphis for work. I had just graduated from college, far away from my family and friends, not knowing anyone or much about the place.
Jimmy was one of the first people I got to know, and before long, he became like a brother to me. He always treated me like family, with kindness, warmth, and open arms.
The donut shop he introduced me to became my favorite place, and he was the reason I became obsessed with Huey’s. I also met Faye that day, who has since become one of my closest friends and someone I know will be a lifelong friend.
It was always a joy to see you, and it is so hard to say goodbye.
Whenever I think of that summer in Memphis, I know I’ll think of you.

Jimmy was such a wonderful dad who deeply cherished his daughter, and a devoted friend who always cared about the feelings of others. At work, he was both exceptional and remarkably kind - someone who took full responsibility with grace and made everyone around him feel genuinely supported and valued.

My family and I will forever treasure the memories of our trips together to the Memphis Zoo, Hot Springs, Little Rock, and beyond. Though we weren't able to make more, we hold tight to the many wonderful moments we shared. He brought so much light into our lives, and we miss him from the very depths of our hearts. May he rest in peaceful love.

Jimmy and I worked together for a few years at TruGreen. He always had some new adventure to talk about - some new food he found at the international market or a jacket he found thrifting. He enjoyed life and was a pleasure to be around. We kept in touch after our lives took us in different directions. He spoke openly about his faith these last few years. I trust that when he closed his eyes to this world, he opened them in the presence of his savior. That brings me great comfort and I hope it does to you as well.

During my short time in Memphis, I was lucky enough to build some truly special memories with Jimmy. We worked in different departments, but our shared love for working out and basketball brought us closer. What started as casual conversations turned into almost daily workouts and weekends spent playing ball together.

Jimmy, you were more than just a friend to me. You were someone I looked up to. Your work ethic, kindness, positivity, and words of wisdom had an impact on everyone around you. You always had a way of encouraging people and making them feel supported.

When I first moved to Memphis, everything felt unfamiliar and I was far from home. Thank you for being there for me, for making that chapter of my life feel a little less foreign, and for giving me memories I’ll always carry with me.

I wish we had more time. I miss you, brother. You will never be forgotten. Rest in peace,

Dear Jimmy, 

It was a pleasure getting to work with you and to share all those little chats during our department training — dropping a few sentences in Mandarin here and there, and, of course, acknowledging the unbeaten superiority =P of Italian food and destinations.

I truly hope you got to tour Tuscany in the end. But if not, I’m sure you’re now enjoying its dreamy views from above, looking back on a life in which you meant so much to your family and left a warm and lasting impact — all the way to the other side of the pond.

Jimmy was the life of our team and someone who genuinely brought people together. I will always remember him going around the office asking who wanted to go to lunch, turning an ordinary workday into an opportunity for us to connect and enjoy each other’s company.

One of my fondest memories is hearing him talk about his daughter, Chelsea. Whenever I asked how she was doing, he would enthusiastically share stories about her, sometimes mimicking her voice. His love and pride for his family were always evident.

I am grateful that I had the opportunity to work with Jimmy and share so many good moments with him. He was a wonderful colleague and a great person.

You will truly be missed, Jimmy. May you rest in perfect peace.

I met Jimmy in the early 2010s when I was still in college. He was a genuinely great guy, and we shared many good conversations over drinks. May he rest in peace. My deepest condolences go out to his family, especially Faye and their beautiful daughter.

Last May, being together with our children in Florence became one of our most beautiful memories. We will carry that precious memory with us forever and always think of you with love.

This is the video I took on May 30th, just like yesterday. I remember Jimmy being a caring brother, who is very strong and knowledgeable in different sports. Cared for all of us, really like a big brother. I will always remember our time together, traveling, chatting, thinking about future plans. And we will not stop there. Condolences to your family.

Jimmy一家今年夏天开始的时候，和我们一起去GAC玩儿。孩子们玩儿水，我和Jimmy哥撸铁。这个视频是我们互相拍摄，为了纠正动作的。5月30号，好像就在昨天，好像还说好了以后孩子游泳，我们去CrossFit，去骑车，以后去打猎， 去邮轮。哥我还有你借我用的rehab band，说等我膝盖好了带我练深蹲。每周中文学校，说我积极带孩子，不如说我是想去找你闲聊。世事难料，你的声音，笑容，对我们的关照，对孩子们的笑容，关怀，永远留在我们心里，留在我内心最重要的地方。尽管我们认识还不到两年，但每次提到你，就像提到家里一个哥哥，而不是外面认识的朋友。我们会继续努力地生活，去积极地面对未来的挑战。以后我们该玩儿还玩儿，过年还要聚会，你做的饭我记得，我要学会，这个味道，我不会忘记！
