

Doris was born on July 18, 1946 in Gatesville, Texas to E. G. Rutherford and Ethel Sullivan Rutherford.
Doris is preceded in death by both her parents and her husband, Roy Michael Hill, Brothers-in-law Howard Stephen Hill, and Roger Alan Hill; Sister-in-law Samye Hill Barnes.

Doris graduated from Gatesville High School in 1964. She attended Business School in Waco after high school.
Doris soon met Roy “Mike” Hill while skating at a skating rink in Waco. They were married on July 2, 1966 at The First Baptist Church of Gatesville.
Doris dedicated her life to serving others as she worked at numerous nursing homes for over 40 years: Bluebonnet, Will O’Bell, River Haven, and Granger Villa. She actually ended up working at the same nursing home that she began her career with in Granger.
When she wasn’t working, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren whom she loved with all her heart!
Doris leaves a legacy of love behind that certainly left her imprint on the lives of many people!
