

Dorothy was born April 12, 1920 to Walter G. Holt and Anna Izzard Holt in the Gooseneck Community near Salado. She lived in the Salado-Bartlett area her entire life. She graduated from Salado High School in 1938. She married her husband of 64 years, Wallace E. Lorenz, on May 30th 1942 in Bartlett where they resided for the rest of their lives. She was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in Bartlett, where she was a choir member and a Sunday School teacher for many years.
Dorothy was a housewife and loved cooking for her devoted husband and all visitors. Her two favorite pastimes were helping with livestock on the family farm and mowing grass. She was preceded in death by her husband Wallace; her parents; two brothers, Ewell Holt and Walter (Pete) Holt; and two sisters, Thelma Townsend and Wilma Saage; and many other relatives and a large number of friends.
Survivors include her nephew and loving care provider Randy Holt of Bartlett; nephews Scott Holt (Joan) of Port Aransas, Weldon Townsend (Shirley) of Round Rock, Bruce Townsend (Ellen) of Salado and Orville Holt (Geraldine) of Georgia; and niece Virginia Townsend Guess of Salado. She is also survived by her loving sister-in-law, Peggy Holt of Rockport.
