Edwin was born in Holland, Texas on February 28, 1942 to Frank J. Massar and Mary Pacha-Massar. He attended high school in Holland. He grew up learning to work hard and enjoy farm living. As a teen he ran a cotton stripper.
Edwin was later drafted by the US Army to serve in Vietnam. He was an expert rifle sharpshooter and received the Vietnam Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. Upon returning home, he worked for Ralph Wilson plastics in maintenance until he decided to venture into self-employment owning and operating Massar Conservation Works. There he worked until his health prevented him from continuing earlier this year.
Edwin is survived by his daughter Sihibon Crawford of Temple and sons Robert Massar and wife Bettina Massar of Troy, Daniel Massar and wife Carrie Massar of Temple, Kenneth Massar and wife Gwen Massar of Rogers. He is also survived by his brothers Frank Massar of Holland, Sam Massar of Temple, Raymond Massar of Holland, Jerry Massar of Holland, Darwin Massar and wife Vicky Massar of Bartlett, Sisters Rosie Vrazel and husband Benny Vrazel of Jarrell and Mary Ann Massar of Holland and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces and special friends. Edwin was preceded in death by father Frank J. Massar and mother Mary Pacha-Massar and sister Evelyn Massar.
Visitation will be held at Goodnight Funeral Home in Bartlett, Texas on May 8, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Funeral Services are Friday May 9, 2025 at Goodnight Funeral Home at 10:00 am.
