Eldon Lange

Eldon E Lange, age 91, of Bartlett, TX passed away on October 27, 2024. Eldon was born in Bartlett, Tx on November 20, 1932 to the late Edmund W Lange and Laura Spiegelhauer Lange. He graduated from Bartlett High School, and went on to serve in the US Navy. He married Janie Barron on August 20, and they were married for 16 years.

Eldon was baptized, confirmed, served on the council, and was a lifelong member of St Johns Lutheran Church of Bartlett. He farmed and raised Registered Hampshire Hogs for 53 years. Eldon developed the Old Line Hampshire breed during that 53 years. The greatest compliment and honor for a breeder is when other breeders use his “genetics” to improve their herds.He participated and helped with the Bell County Jr Fair and Livestock association for 30 years.He loved to hunt and was a great outdoorsman. He was a life member of the Hampshire Swine Registry, Life Member of National Rifle Association and a Life Member of the Texas State Rifle Association. He also served on the board of directors for Bartlett Electric Cooperative for 35 years.

The funeral will be Thursday October 31, at 10AM at St John Lutheran Church in Bartlett, TX. Visitation will be Wednesday October 30, at Goodnight Funeral Home in Bartlett from 6PM to 8PM. Bradley Barron, Eric Johnson, Ty Roman, Randy Lange, Rodney Lange and Terry Parker will serve as pallbearers.
