Margaret “Mag” Henrietta Thaler passed away peacefully Sunday, January 14. She was born June 19th, 1930, in Detmold, Texas, to William “Bill” Rodenbeck and Margaret Rodenbeck. She married Norman “Cooper” Leroy Thaler on May 25, 1950. Mag enjoyed raising her boys in their homes in Austin, and later in Bartlett. She was a bookkeeper at Western Auto in Bartlett, where she worked side-by-side with Cooper. She was very active at St. John Lutheran Church and loved visiting residents at Will O’ Bell. She spent as much time as possible with her sisters, who were her best friends.
Mag is survived by her three sons: Doug and wife Linda Kay of Bartlett, David and wife Meloney of Sparks, Nevada, and Bryon and his wife Jill, of Belton; a sister: Polly Miller; grandchildren: Jim Thaler and wife Jessica of Georgetown, Aaron Thaler and wife Kristen of Morgan’s Point, Stefanie Zgleszewski of Duncan, Oklahoma, Bradley Thaler and wife Shaynice of Reno, Nevada, Jordan Thaler and wife Lanette of Academy, Katy Alley and husband Michael of Austin, Jenna Thaler of Sparks, Nevada. She is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers Sonny Rodenbeck and Dusty Rodenbeck, sisters Elvira Rodenbeck, Lorene Moehnke, Ruth Hennig, Katy Mikus, and Carol Glenn.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, January 19, at Goodnight Funeral Home in Bartlett. Funeral will be Saturday, January 20, 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Bartlett. Burial will follow at St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Bartlett, TX.
