Mary Lois Parkhill

Graveside services for Mary Lois Parkhill, 89, longtime resident of Holland, Texas will be held 2 PM, Wednesday, June 1, 2011, 2 PM at Holland Cemetery with the Rev. Phil Shuler officiating of Holland United Methodist Church. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the cemetery.

Mrs. Parkhill died Saturday, May 28, 2011 in Temple Care Center.

She was born November 21, 1921 the daughter of John and Annie (Poncik) Sumbera in Holland, Texas.

She was educated in Holland schools and attended business school in Austin. On June 21, 1972 she married C. M. “Jimmy” Parkhill. She was a homemaker and bookkeeper for several area businesses.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and three brothers, William, John, and Joe Sumbera.

Mary is survived by her son, William Unberhagen and wife Paula of Holland; Daughter, Joan Kurtz and husband Harold of Holland;

four grandchildren, Courtney Hargrove and husband Bert of Westphalia, Cody Kurtz and wife Tamara of Pflugerville, Chase Unberhagen and wife Keri of Austin, and five great-grandchildren, Sydney and Avery Kurtz, Kinsey Hargrove, and Jack and Mary Unberhagen; two sisters, Celestine Haschke of Cleburne and Alice Lee of Temple; and numerous nieces and nephews.
