Michael Davis

Michael Wayne “Mike” Davis Sr., age 76, of Davilla, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025, surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born on April 8, 1949, in Temple, Texas, and lived a full, hardworking life devoted to his family, faith, and community.

Mike was a true jack of all trades—and a master of all. Drafted into the U.S. Army at the age of 18, he proudly served his country in Vietnam. After returning home, he held many roles throughout his life, working in plumbing, construction, and farming, and even serving for a short time as a police officer in Bartlett, Texas. Of all his endeavors, his greatest passions were truck driving and pastoring, where he found purpose in both hard work and helping others.

He loved spending time outdoors—hunting, fishing, and playing golf—and cherished every moment spent with his family. Mike was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who worked tirelessly from sunup to sundown to provide for those he loved most.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy Darlene Davis; brothers, Donnie Davis and Jim Davis; children, Michael Wayne Davis Jr. and spouse Yadira Galvan-Davis, Candice Luanne King and spouse Michael King, Terry Joe Davis and spouse Faye Davis, and Suzanne Renee Torres and partner Leona Pangelinan; grandchildren, Yazmin Barajas, Heather Davis, Alex Salazar, Tracey Pando, Brett King, Jacob King, Terry King, Brooklyn Davis, Dallas Davis, London Davis, Ezekiel Torres, and Jaxson Torres; and great-grandchildren, Lux Pando, Jayden Pando, Grayson Pando, Hutson Pando, and Everleigh King.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 29, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Goodnight Funeral Home in Bartlett, Texas. Funeral services will follow on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Hilltop Memories Event Center in Bartlett, Texas.

Mike will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but his legacy of strength, faith, and love will live on through his family and the countless lives he touched.
