Roberta Elizabeth Petrie

Roberta E. Petrie of Holland, Texas passed away June 12, 2020. She was born in Temple, TX on September 5, 1929 to Vera Mae and Wallace Houston Reed. Roberta graduated from Holland where she also taught for over 35 years after receiving her Bachelors degree in Education from Southwestern University. She was married to Laurence Petrie in 1951. Upon graduating, she was employed by the Lone Star Gas Company as a Home Demonstration Agent, prior to her first teaching position at Henrietta. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma organization. In addition, Roberta was a life-long member of the Holland First United Methodist Church. One of her greatest honors was being named “Woman of the Year” in 2006 by the Holland Chamber of Commerce. She is proceeded in death by her husband, Laurence Petrie and daughter, Cathy Rector. Roberta was survived by her daughter, Paula Fagner; grandchildren: Jessica Smith, Kristen Zajicek, J. Fagner, Joshua Fagner and Kyle Rector; and several great-grandchildren. Service arrangements will be made at a later date.
