Aubrey "Babe" L. Atkinson

He was born on January 18, 1927 in Peoria to Charles L. and Gertrude May (King) Atkinson.

He married Dorothy “Dee” Faye Osborn on January 18, 1955 in Peoria. She preceded him in death on July 28, 2009. He was also preceded in death by his only child, Michale S. “Mike” Atkinson, Sr.

Babe is survived by his daughter in law, Jackie Atkinson of Peoria; 3 grandchildren, Michale Jr. (Jana) of Pekin, Michala (Jacob) of Hanna City and Mikyren of Peoria; and great- grandchildren, Keegan, Adilyn, Alice and Kohynn.

Babe proudly served in the United States Army during W.W. II in the task force- Alvetian Island. He was Vice President of Floorkrafters Inc. for 40 years. He retired in 1992 and continued flooring contracting part time. He also volunteered countless hours to Methodist Hospital from 1993-2023. Babe was a member of American Legion Post 979 and was a life member of AMA. He loved spending time with his friends and family.

Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2024 also at the funeral home. Rev. Brent E. Foster will officiate.

Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
