Barbara A Whittenburg

Barbara was born in the small southern Illinois town of DuQuoin and later attended Valier Community High School. She also attended Illinois Central College as an adult.

In 1959 Barbara and her husband Bill moved to the greater metropolitan Peoria, Illinois.

In 1968 they moved to the neighboring village of Bartonville, Illinois, and raised three sons. She lived in that family home the rest of her life.

She was employed in the accounting division as a manager of the accounts payable department at OSF Healthcare Saint Francis Medical Center for nearly three decades and retired at the end of 2008.

After the passing of her husband, Bill, she pursued her interests in writing short stories as well as pursuing her artistic endeavors and was a member of the Illinois Art League.

She is survived by her three sons, Russell Whittenburg of Bartonville, Illinois, Kirk (Debbie) Whittenburg of Delavan,Illinois and Kevin (Jan) Whittenburg of Pekin, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bill Whittenburg.

Barbara’s funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at the Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services. Burial will take place in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
