Betty J. Lyons

Betty was born October 5, 1930 in Wolf Lake, IL to Leslie and Elnora (Lindsay) Grah. Betty married Charles Jarvis in 1949. He passed away in 1977. She was also preceded in death by an infant son and parents.

Her surviving children are Cathy Hamm of Morton and Pam Jarvis of Bartonville; two sisters, Mary Johnson of Scott City, MO and Opal Horsley of Cape Girardeau, MO; grandchildren are Matt Hamm at Gardner, IL, Marc Hamm at Scheller, IL; great-grandchildren are Wyatt, Hannah, Tristen, Halle and Nayten Hamm; step-great-grandchildren are Courtney and Kira Gleason; She also has three great-great-grandchildren.

Betty married Robert Lyons in 1982. He passed away in 2004. Surviving are his children, Marcy Marter of Morton, Melody Lyons of Peoria, and Robert Lyons of Florida.

Betty was a secretary in the guidance office at Limestone Community High School for 27 years, retiring in 1993. She was a member of the Bartonville Femmes Unir Club for 50 years, the Bartonville Legion Post 979, the Bartonville Red Hat Belles, and member of St. John Lutheran Church of Bartonville.

Betty was active in the church choir, the monthly newsletter, funeral dinners, Welca, sewing and organizing readers for each Sunday service.

Betty loved to travel and see in person new places and especially shopping. Loved family get-togethers and sharing birthdays.

Service will be at 11:00 am Monday, March 25, 2024 with visitation one hour prior to the service at St. John Lutheran Church in Bartonville. Burial will follow the service at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel is handling arrangements.

Memorials can be made to St. John Lutheran Church, OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home, and ALS Association.
