Betty Lavon Parchman

Betty was born March 10, 1925 in Secor, IL the daughter of Walter and Rose Miller Armstrong.

She is survived by three daughters, Judy (Marc) Miller of Estero, FL, Sherry Roots of West Peoria, and Peggy (Gary) Shaffer of Peoria; six grandchildren: Randy Roots, Tracy Roots, Dan (Maureen) Hursey, Melissa (Karl) Maurer, Ken Miller and TJ Shaffer; eleven great-grandchildren, Rachael, Rebecca and Carolyn Ryan, Evyn and Sydney Miller, Jersye Wiseman, Aleah Muellner, Hailey Maurer, Chris, Matt and Samantha Hursey.

Betty was the oldest of six children, Marvin, Jerry, Pat, Ruby, and Donna who all preceded her in death along with her parents, her husband Virgil Roots, and one granddaughter, Kelly Ryan.

She worked at Armour’s packing house for many years. Betty was a vivacious and wonderful woman who was looked to by all of her family for strength.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel. Visitation will be an hour prior to services.

Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Rosewood Care Center.
