She was born on June 20, 1929, in Peoria to George R. and Beulah I. (Gray) Penman. She married Henry C. Smith on November 26, 1949, in Bloomington. He preceded her in death on June 29, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one son, Mike Smith, one brother, two sisters and two grandchildren.
Beulah is survived by her one daughter, Kathryn Burns (Gary Snyder) of Bartonville; two sons, Glen Smith of West Peoria and Mark (Stefanie) Smith of Bartonville; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Beulah worked for Hiram Walker in the bottling line for 10 years. She was a perfectionist and an excellent seamstress. There were often wedding/bridesmaids dresses, prom dresses, recital costumes, etc., in her sewing room. She also enjoyed making wedding and birthday cakes. Most of all, she was a devoted mother and grandmother, always putting her family first.
She was a member of Bartonville United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 4, 2021, at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel. Pastor Jack Thompson will officiate. Visitation will be held an hour prior to services. Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery.
