Brenda Jo Smith, 59, of Bartonville, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at her home. Born in Peoria, on April 13, 1967, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Patricia (Behrens) Kiefer. On May 24, 1986, she married Timothy Smith.
Surviving Brenda is her husband, Timothy Smith; son, Ryan (Sarah) Smith; three siblings, Kevin (Kathleen) Rotter, Sarah (Ray) Chandler, and Scott Kiefer; and her biological mother, JoAnn Rotter. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
Brenda worked as a dental hygienist for many years. She put work on pause to care for her mother, and when caretaking duty was done, she worked as a teacher's aide at Peoria Adult Transition Academy. She enjoyed camping, bowling, softball, crafting, and spending time with her family and friends. She was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan.
Visitation will take place on Monday, June 1, 2026, at Trinity Presbyterian Church, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions can be made to PAT Academy at Glen Barton School. The family requests guests to wear their Cubs attire.
