Charlette Sue "Chatty" Hancock

Born Nov. 23, 1949 in Peoria, IL to Charles Howard and Donna D. (Walberg) Shempf Sr. She married Charles V. Hancock in Kingston Mines on March 12, 1977. He survives.

Also surviving are her daughter, Angie (Paul) Florey Stevenson of Mapleton; four grandchildren, Aaron, Destiny, Lauren, Nick; sister, Paulette (Gary) Hand of Mapleton; and brother, Charlie (Lisa) Schempf Jr. of Peoria. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Ed.

Charlette was the Mayor of Kingston Mines for 10 years. She worked as the Timber Township Tax Collector for over 20 years, and as an administrative assistant for Hinshaw-Culbertson Law Firm in Peoria.

She was an active member of Ducks Unlimited. She loved spending time with her family and will be dearly missed by all.

Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at Kingston Mines United Methodist Church with Pastor Jim Reed officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel in Bartonville and also one hour before services Wednesday at church. Burial will be at Kingston Mines Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Timber-Hollis Volunteer Fire Department or Kingston Mines United Methodist Church.
