Clara M. Lane

  She was born April 15, 1923 in Chicago, IL to Ferris and Clara (Feddermeyer) Elam.  She married LeRoy H. Lane on April 19, 1941 in Missouri.  He died September 27, 1987 in Peoria.

  She was also preceded in death by a grandson and his wife, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.

  Surviving are her children, Eileen Hurst of Bartonville, Judy (Ken) Parker of Metamora, Patsy Cremeens of Bartonville, Ronald Lane of Brimfield; two sisters, Fran Gritton of Kansas, Frieda Parrott of Washington, IL; 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

  Clara was a great homemaker and cook.  She was known for making the best fried chicken around.  She was an avid bowler.  She was also a lifetime member of the American Legion and VFW and its cootiette club.

  A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, September 17, 2012 at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel.  Visitation will be 2 hours prior to services at the chapel.  Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery.

  Memorials may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association or Rosewood Care Center in East Peoria.
