

He was born Jan 24, 1950 to Charles E Rickena and Billie Bartholomew.
He is survived by his wife Tracy Rickena, his son Wes, 2 grandchildren: Page & Gabin, one sister, Nancy (Rickena) Hornbaker along with Angie & Jeremy his niece and nephew. He also leaves behind a close friend Mason, and his beloved dog Jake.
He was a lathe plaster for over 30+ years working at Rickena Lathe & Plaster owned by his father. He was a member of the Labor for Local 237 Carpenters.
Bear was a United States Army veteran serving in the Vietnam War from 1969-1971. He received a purple heart and earned the rank of SP4. He served out of the 8th Cavalry, Fort Hood, Texas. He also received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 3 bronze stars, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.
He graduated from Timber Township High School Glasford, Illinois class of 1969 played Basketball and baseball and was good in both sports.
Bear loved working on cars, especially his Mustang. He also enjoyed hunting and was a collector of many different things. He loved being on the farm and enjoy life – he was a really great guy.
He enjoyed going to concerts, and followed REO Speed Wagon.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of Bear’s life with Military Honors will be Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at 11 a.m. at the Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services.
Private burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in the Last Supper section.
