Donald Paul Maher

Donald Paul Maher, 90, of Bartonville, Illinois, passed away Sunday, April 30, 2017 at Heddington Oaks in West Peoria, Illinois. He was born September 18, 1926 in Brimfield, Illinois to Charles and Verna (Hammond) Maher. He married Nancy Smith on July 16, 1955 in Carroll, Iowa. She survives.

He is also survived by two sons, Dennis (Jean) Maher of Bartonville and Matthew (Tammy) Maher of Mapleton; three grandchildren, Whitney (Kevin) Breweur, Daniel and Delaney Maher; one great granddaughter, Kali Breweur. He has one sister surviving, Pauline Hall of Elmwood. He was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.

Donald was a livestock buyer for the Armour Meat Packing Company and Bird Farm Sausage Company for many years before retiring. He was an Army Veteran of WW II and a member of the Bartonville American Legion Post 979.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Friday, May 5, 2017 at the Davison Fulton Bartonville Chapel. The Rev. Jack Thompson will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the chapel. Burial will be in the St. Mary Cemetery near Elmwood, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Limestone Fire Department or the Bartonville American Legion Post 979.
