

Dorothy E. Haynes, 97, of Peoria passed away at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Bel-Wood Nursing Home in Peoria. Dorothy was born October 22, 1915 in Kewanee, Illinois, the daughter of Luther Adelbert & Charlotte Lochie Bolin. She married Elmer James "Jim"Haynes in Des Moines Iowa on October 28, 1938. Hepreceded her in death on January 12, 1982.
She is survived by one daughter, Lorita "Rita" (Carl) Best of Bartonville; one son, Alan (Nadene) Haynes Sr. of Azle, Texas; two grandsons, Alan (Cathy) Haynes Jr. of Fairfield, PA, Kevin (Melissa) Best of Greeley, Colorado; two granddaughters, Karla Best of Bartonville,IL, and Alicia Haynes of Fort Worth, TX; seven great-grandchildren, Leah, Christina, Joshua Haynes, Tara (Ben)Homan, Tyler, Reagan, and Brock Best.
Dorothy is preceded in death byher parents; husband; one granddaughter, Kimberly S. Best; one grandson, Kenneth A. Best; two brothers; and one sister.
She was a life long member of St. John Lutheran Church. Dorothy worked at Monroe Grade School, Richwoods High School, and Cohen Furniture Companyas a cook in thecafeteria, retiring in 1972.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday January 22, 2013 at St. John Lutheran Church. Pastor Michael Jones will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to services.Burial will be in St. John'sLutheran Cemetery.
