

He was born Jan. 6, 1937 in Beeville, TX to Paul James and Bessie (McGuire) Secrest. He married Shirley Ann Monroe June 17, 1972 in Peoria. She survives along with one son, Paul Secrest of Peoria, one sister, Julia Goldsmith of Spring, TX, one sister-in-law, Mary Secrest of Tucson, AZ, several nieces and nephews, and his beloved cat Ashes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, J. Gordon Secrest, and one sister, Lela Evelyn Smith.
Duke worked for Bemis Bag Company for 40 years retiring in 2003. He also drove part time for Peoria Charter Coach for 33 years.
He was a member of the Peoria Transportation Club, Pekin Transportation Club, the Limestone Athletic Booster Club, and a former member of the Second Baptist Church in Peoria. Duke also enjoyed selling 50/50 tickets at the Limestone Football Games.
Visitation will be Wednesday Jan. 7, 2015 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel. Funeral Services will be Thursday Jan. 8, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the funeral Home. Additional visitation will be one hour prior to the services on Thursday.
Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria.
Memorials may be made to the Limestone High School Athletic Booster Club, or the Limestone High School Easter Seals 2015 Campaign.
