

She was born October 1, 1934 in Peoria, IL to Ernest and Elenora (Nau) Meyer. She married Richard "Dick" Ayres on July 4, 1953 in Peoria. He preceded her in death on April 7, 1998. Also preceding her in death were her parents and her sister, Nancy Boehle.
Surviving are her four children, Richard "Rick" (Rosanne) Ayres of Bartonville, Lynn Truitt of Chillicothe, Jack (Julie) Ayres of Trivoli and Craig (Danielle) Ayres of St. Paul, MO.; eight grandchildren, Megan, Morgan, Jessica, Emily, Thomas, Alex, Kathryn and Abigail; four great-grandchildren, Cameron, Gabby, Will and Micah; seven siblings, Judy, Joan, Mariann, Joe, Pat, Tim and Tom and her brother-in-law, Bud Burger.
Toby received her Masters in Business Administration from Bradley University and worked as Accounting Manager at General Pump and Machinery and various other businesses in the Peoria area. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Bartonville and was on the church finance committee. Toby had a thirst for knowledge that led her to various pursuits such as quilting, weaving, basket weaving and her real passion, photography and taking pictures of the grandchildren.
She was also a member of Handweavers Guild of Peoria and Gems of the Prairie Quilters.
Toby and her family would like to express their gratitude to the caregivers at Courtyard Estates, Proctor Place, OSF Hospice and Saint Francis Medical Center.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 4 to 7 pm at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Bartonville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am Friday, February 16, 2018 at the church. Father David Heinz will officiate. Burial will follow the service at St. Mary Cemetery in West Peoria. Davison-Fulton-Bartonville Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
